About
Mihai Tarmure is a web & graphic designer currently residing in the heart of Transylvania / Europe. He started with computers since 1st grade, gradually moving from ZX Spectrum and casette tapes to Core2Duo and USB thumb drives, from Photoshop 5 to Photoshop CS4, from Freehand 9 to 11 and later on when ‘the bastards killed it’ to Illustrator, from Flash 4 to Flash CS4, from 3DStudio r4 to 3DSMAX and haven’t stopped since.
He studied 4 years of Automation and Industrial Informatics in Bucharest, which proved to be venomous to his creative tendencies so he decided to go the hard way and self-teach his way out.
After the first steps done in programming he starts designing in 1998 and works along the way with companies such as Headvertising, Green Pixel, Incremental and Skadool; doing identity work, print, interface design, flash, web design, standard compliant XHTML and CSS coding. From time to time he takes a break from the 10am to 9pm job, changes girlfriend, changes city and goes freelancing.
Mihai has published design articles and was featured in related media for his experimental design work as well as several art exhibitions. Notable mentions include Chip Magazine, EFX Magazine (ex Mac Art&Design) and Intermedia. He should also find groove and do more publishing and exhibitions.
In his spare time Mihai Tarmure guts his computer out, installs Mac OSX on his PC, reads hardware reviews, watches movies, plays top rated games and tries to elucidate the mistery of life over drinks with friends.
He finds inspiration in traveling to distant cities, finds dreams while being on the run and finds himself calm during hangovers. He loves art and design.
